Jamie Eason

Some insightful words by Fitness Model/Writer Jamie Eason! This applies to both men and women who wish to achieve that “toned” look. This is for all the misguided souls who still think lifting weights will make them “too bulky!”

Fitness Model/Writer Jamie Eason You can't tone what you don't have! If you're afraid to build muscle, then I'm afraid you will always be chasing what you'll never have. Being thinner does not equal being toned.

Why Aren’t You Making Gains?

On November 29, 2013 by Physical Culturist

brooks kubik quote It's very simple.

Are you squatting?

Are you pulling?

Are you pushing heavy stuff over your head?

If you're not doing the above, don't ask me why you're not gaining.

Awesome Motivation for Life and Lifting!

fucking motivation

The latest Volvo commercial is going viral for good reason. Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme takes his 53 year-old body to the next level to showcase Volvo’s Dynamic Steering System. The stunt is in fact real. A Volvo rep confirmed that the spot was done in just one take, and if the actor had gotten a leg cramp while filming, he would have been protected by plenty of safety lines that were not visible in the final video. He also was aided by small platforms on the trucks’ side mirrors that helped prop up his feet. But none of this takes away from the badassery of doing a perfect split between two massive moving vehicles.

This applies to so many things; health, wealth, and any commitment you strive for, can start and end with baby steps, that add up to something magnificent. So don’t delay your dreams because you’re overwhelmed. Just start small and watch it grow.

Moscow Subway Ticket Machine Accepts SQUATS As Payment

On November 13, 2013 by Physical Culturist

To promote exercise and the 2014 Olympics, Olympic Changes installed a very special ticket machine at the Moscow subway station.

Instead of accepting money as payment, the high-tech ticket machine only accepts exercise! Riders can receive a free ticket by standing in front of the machine’s camera, and performing 30 squats or lunges.

Hey! No cheating!

The next phase will incorporate burpees. Everyone hates burpees.

Will these types of payment systems be used in the future?

Successful vs Unsuccessful People

On October 21, 2013 by Physical Culturist

“Successful people always have a dream, a plan of action, the ability to do the task, willingness to do it and they don’t back down at any cost. Unsuccessful people on the other hand, find several reasons and means to justify their failures, wait for others to guide them and blame others for their mistakes. The attitude is what that shows whether the person is success-oriented or not. This infographic presents the traits and behaviors of successful people and unsuccessful people.”

Notice how this applies to the pursuits of Physical Culture 🙂

Exercise Builds the Body; Idleness Deteriorates it

On October 18, 2013 by Physical Culturist

Exercise builds the body; idleness deteriorates it. As the saying goes, if you don’t use it, you lose it! Of course, there is a point of diminishing returns. It’s up to us to train intelligently in order to find that sweet spot that will help us build our strength, bodies and longevity, while avoiding injury and deterioration.

Weakness is a Choice

On October 12, 2013 by Physical Culturist

“It may be suggested that there is no reason why a man should go to the trouble and exertion of struggling with heavy weights, since there is no crying necessity for that particular man to acquire any phenomenal degree of strength. To that I would reply by asking why a man should desire to be weak?” – George Hackenschmidt
