Top 5 Benefits Of Having A Home Gym

If you live in a place where you have access to your own basement or garage, you should definitely invest in a home gym–and by home gym, I don’t mean a couple of 15 lbs dumbbells and an “ab station”. To me, a home gym consists of the basic equipment required to perform the basic barbell movements that will help you build a foundation of muscle and strength (i.e. squat, bench press, deadlift, military press, rows, etc)–that means a squat rack, a barbell, a bench, some weights, and some sort of platform or floor mat to protect your floor.

well I have 2 small rooms in my house we are renting as 3 bedroom apartment I live with my parents and I only can do limited exercise in my house biceps curls military press tricep extension luckily for me I have a gym that’s a 10 minute walk away from my house and its open 24 hours its called dolphin fitness clubs a home gym is good if you have a big hopuse but I prefar a commercial gym because I have someone to motivate me there while I workout and once I am there its hard to stop working out but when I am home right near the couch its much easier for me to stop working out and just get back on the couch.

for me the main things are
    squat rack
    incline bench
    flat bench
    military bench
    lat pulldown machine
    pull up and dip station
and again its not something you can have in your home if you have small rooms and limited space like I do.

  • Hi Matthew

I can certainly agree about having your own Fortress of Solitude! Sometimes you just want to workout without the constant feel of people looking at you pulling funny faces whilst trying to pump that last rep out! And of course you don’t need to worry about what you are wearing and how much you are sweating either. Great article 🙂

You set your own time and routine and reap maximum benefits by using the gym equipment at your own pace. It also saves you on the time and frustration when you need to wait in queue to use a particular apparatus in the public gym. […]
